Common questions

You do not need to be technical.

Start hereHow does the program relate to the qualification?
The AI Workplace Transformation Program includes the qualification. You learn through practical projects inside Next Horizon, a simulated Australian organisation, and every task shows the units of the nationally recognised BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Digital Transformation) it counts toward. The Diploma is awarded when you meet all of its training and assessment requirements. The Career Success & Impact Portfolio and the digital achievement badges are EduSmart’s own, and sit alongside the qualification rather than forming part of it.
What if I am new to AI?
You do not need to be an AI expert. The program begins with foundations and focuses on safe, purposeful and practical use. Start with what AI, automation and digital transformation mean.
How much time will this take?
The program runs for about 10 months at about 4 hours a week, and you have up to 18 months to finish. The course fits around your working life, and you choose when: first thing in the morning, at lunch or late in the evening. Every task shows how long it takes, so you can pick one that fits the time you have.
Will this help in my industry?
Yes. The core program develops transferable AI, automation, workplace improvement and digital transformation capability. You practise on projects inside Next Horizon, a simulated organisation, and connect that capability back to your own industry and role. You also choose one approved client and apply what you have learned to that client case.
What will I have when I finish?
You finish with a Career Success & Impact Portfolio that holds your practical projects, reports, AI builds and evidence of value, and an Employer Showcase of the work you choose to lead with.
How will employers see my work?
You can select relevant evidence for an Employer Showcase that presents your strongest capabilities, projects and workplace value. See the Career Portfolio.

Your industryConstruction, Civil & Projects

Construction, Civil & Projects

Work smarter across projects, people and operations.

Build practical AI, automation and digital capability to reduce administration, improve project visibility and help work move more effectively from office to site and across project teams.

Sound familiar?

  • Too much project administration. The real work waits while the diary, the logs and the client update get written.
  • Information spread across emails, systems and spreadsheets. The latest drawing is in someone’s inbox, not where the team looks.
  • Slow quoting, estimating or tender processes. Each tender starts again, with the last job’s numbers retyped by hand.
  • Site-to-office communication gaps. The office hears about a site problem days after the crew does.
  • Manual reporting and follow-up. Friday’s progress report is pieced together from five places.
  • Variations and project information difficult to track. An approved variation sits in a text message nobody can find at claim time.
  • Experienced people carrying too much knowledge. When one senior person is away, half the questions wait.
  • Pressure to deliver more with limited people. The workload grows. The team does not.

How the program helps

You learn to map how a job really runs, find where information drops between site and office, and design AI-supported workflows with human checks built in. You practise inside Next Horizon, a simulated organisation, then connect the same method back to your own projects and role.

What you could build

  • Project reporting workflow
  • Quoting or tender workflow
  • Site-to-office information flow
  • Variation and document tracking
  • Client and stakeholder follow-up
  • Procurement and supplier workflow
  • Project dashboard
  • Workforce onboarding or knowledge capture

Why it matters Evidence a project leader can check: the problem you found, the workflow you built, how you tested it and what it changed.

Your industryProfessional & Advisory Services

Professional & Advisory Services

AI is changing what clients and employers value.

Build on your professional expertise with practical AI, automation and digital improvement capability, and create stronger proof of the value you can bring.

Sound familiar?

  • Repeated research, analysis and report preparation. Every report starts with the same research, gathered again by hand.
  • Manual proposals and client follow-up. Proposals are rebuilt from old files, and follow-up depends on memory.
  • Knowledge spread across people, files and systems. The answer exists somewhere in the firm. Finding it takes an afternoon.
  • Growing expectations for faster turnaround. Clients who use AI themselves now expect answers in hours, not days.
  • Routine lower-value work being automated. The tasks that once filled a junior’s week are the first to be automated.
  • Pressure to show stronger client and business value. Hours are easy to count. The value you added is harder to show.

How the program helps

You learn to break expert work into steps, decide where AI helps and where your judgement must stay, and build checked processes around research, proposals and client handover. Each improvement becomes evidence of the value you add, not only the hours you spend.

What you could build

  • Research and reporting workflow
  • Proposal and client follow-up process
  • Knowledge management system
  • Client onboarding or handover workflow
  • AI-supported document process
  • Business reporting or workflow improvement

Why it matters Evidence a client or employer can check: the process you improved, how you checked the AI’s output, and the time and quality it changed.

Your industryAllied Health & Community Services

Allied Health & Community Services

Improve the systems around care without losing the people at the centre.

Build practical AI, digital and operational capability to reduce administration, strengthen service delivery and support better ways of working.

Including allied health, NDIS, aged care and community-service organisations.

Sound familiar?

  • Growing intake and service administration. New referrals arrive faster than the paperwork behind them can be finished.
  • Complex referrals, scheduling and handovers. One cancelled appointment means a morning of rebooking by phone.
  • Repeated documentation and follow-up. The same client details are typed into three different forms.
  • Information spread across teams and systems. The note that matters is in another team’s system.
  • Workforce and onboarding pressures. New staff take weeks to learn where everything lives.
  • Privacy, compliance and responsible AI requirements. AI could save hours, but nobody is sure what is safe to put into it.

How the program helps

You learn to map intake and handover processes, cut repeated entry, and set clear rules for when AI can help and when it must not touch client information. The care stays human. The administration around it gets lighter.

What you could build

  • Intake or referral workflow
  • Scheduling or service coordination improvement
  • Service handover process
  • Knowledge resource
  • Employee onboarding workflow
  • Responsible AI or administrative improvement

Why it matters Evidence a service manager can check: the process you redesigned, the privacy and AI safeguards you set, and the administration it removed.

Your industryGovernment & Public-Sector Services

Government & Public-Sector Services

Improve services. Reduce repeated work. Use AI responsibly.

Build practical AI and digital improvement capability while keeping governance, privacy, public trust and accountable decision-making at the centre.

Sound familiar?

  • High administrative workloads. Casework waits behind forms, logs and status updates.
  • Repeated reporting and documentation. The same figures go to three areas in three formats.
  • Slow or complex approval processes. A simple request collects five sign-offs and two weeks.
  • Information spread across teams and systems. Each team holds part of the picture, and no one sees all of it.
  • Growing expectations for faster, easier services. The public compares your service with the apps on their phone.
  • Strong governance, privacy and accountability requirements. Every change has to stand up to review, not just work.
  • Workforce capability gaps as systems change. New systems arrive faster than the training for them.
  • Pressure to introduce AI safely and responsibly. Leaders want AI adopted without putting public trust at risk.

How the program helps

You learn to improve a service process step by step, record decisions so they can be reviewed, and design AI use with human checks, privacy controls and clear accountability. You practise inside Next Horizon, a simulated organisation, then connect the method to the services you deliver.

What you could build

  • Service request workflow
  • Reporting automation
  • Internal knowledge system
  • Approval process improvement
  • Digital service experience
  • Project or stakeholder reporting workflow
  • Workforce onboarding or capability support
  • Responsible AI or governance process

Why it matters Evidence a manager or selection panel can check: the service you improved, the governance you built in, and the measures that show it worked.
