What we’re researching
We want to understand:
- how prepared workforces are for AI-enabled work
- whether managers are ready to lead AI-related change
- where workforce skill gaps are emerging
- how organisations are approaching adoption and implementation
- how responsible AI and governance are being handled
- whether AI investment is creating measurable business value
- what employers believe their people will need next
You do not need to be advanced in AI.
Early-stage organisations are just as important to the research as organisations already using AI across multiple teams. We want to understand where Australian workplaces really are now.
People who can see how the workforce is really placed.
This survey is for people with visibility over workforce capability, leadership, systems or AI adoption, including:
- business owners and founders
- CEOs and senior leaders
- HR and People & Culture leaders
- Learning & Development leaders
- operations leaders
- transformation and business improvement leaders
- digital and technology leaders
- managers responsible for teams or workforce capability
Why EduSmart Institute is conducting this research.
The people behind EduSmart Institute have run Global Training Institute for more than 22 years, in vocational education and workforce development. We are now focused on how AI is changing work, skills and workforce capability.
We are conducting this research because organisations need better evidence about the people side of AI, not only technology adoption.
EduSmart Institute is an Australian Government Registered Training Organisation, RTO Code 45984.
The findings will help build a clearer picture of:
- workforce capability
- manager readiness
- learning and development
- AI adoption
- governance
- future roles
- business value

Reported in aggregate, with the method shown.
- Research findings will be reported in aggregate. Individual organisations and respondents will not be identified, or named, in published findings without permission.
- The survey does not ask for your name or email. Contact details are asked for only after your response is submitted, and only if you want the findings or future resources.
- Responses are used to build the Australian AI Workforce Readiness Index 2026 and its published findings.
- Published findings will state the sample size, the mix of participants, the collection period and the methodology, including whether the sample is self-selected.
The Index will report what participating Australian organisations tell us about workforce readiness. It will not claim to represent every Australian employer.
