Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about the Program, the Diploma, fees and how EduSmart is registered.

The Program

Does the Program include a qualification?

Yes. The AI Workplace Transformation Program includes the nationally recognised BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Digital Transformation).

The Diploma is awarded when all applicable training and assessment requirements have been successfully completed.

Is this an AI course?

It includes practical AI capability, but it is broader than an AI tools course. The Program develops workplace improvement, communication, problem-solving, operations, people, risk, value and transformation capability.

Do I need technical experience?

No. The Program is designed for working professionals and does not require coding experience.

How long does it take?

The Learning Journey is designed to be completed in about 10 months, applying your skills as you go.

It is built around about 4 hours a week of learning and practical activity, and you have up to 18 months to complete and submit the assessment evidence the qualification requires.

How much time do I need each week?

Plan for about 4 hours a week. A week with a larger workplace assignment or an assessment activity can take more. Every task shows how long it takes, so you can choose one that fits the time you have.

Is the Program online?

Yes. The Program is delivered online, so your learning and workplace assignments fit around work and your other commitments.

What support will I receive?

You have practical instructions, templates and tools, AI-supported guidance, feedback, learner support, live drop-in opportunities and professional development sessions across the Learning Journey.

Learning Through Next Horizon

What is Next Horizon?

Next Horizon is EduSmart’s immersive workplace environment. You take on a role inside a realistic organisation and complete practical assignments across areas such as Digital Solutions & AI, Operations, Client Success, People & Capability, Risk, Finance and Head Office.

It gives you a safe place to practise workplace transformation skills without needing your employer to provide confidential business information or projects. Your role in Next Horizon is part of the learning experience. It is not paid employment.

What will I actually do?

You complete connected workplace assignments inside Next Horizon, EduSmart’s immersive workplace environment.

You work across areas including AI and digital solutions, operations, client success, people, risk, finance and business improvement, and build practical evidence for your Career Success & Impact Portfolio and for qualification assessment.

Do I need my employer to give me projects or confidential information?

No. The core Learning Journey is completed through Next Horizon and realistic client and workplace scenarios.

You can take what you learn back into your own workplace, but you do not need to provide confidential employer information to complete the Program.

Career Portfolio & My Career Hub

What is the Career Success & Impact Portfolio?

It is the record of the work you do in the Program, set out for an employer to read: the workplace problems you investigated, the improvements you developed, and the value they created or are expected to create.

What do the portfolio labels mean?

Each item shows who stands behind it. Verified by EduSmart means EduSmart tested it and determined the result. Checked by EduSmart means EduSmart checked the claim and the evidence supplied, and agrees. Self-declared is your own statement.

Can I show the portfolio to my current employer?

Yes. You can select relevant evidence to discuss your contribution, capability and future development.

Can I use it when applying for another job?

Yes. The Employer Showcase can present selected evidence relevant to a future role.

What is My Career Hub?

My Career Hub is where you keep and build your career profile, Future Ready Skills, verified achievements, badges and selected evidence.

It keeps your professional evidence organised beyond individual course activities.

Are results guaranteed?

No. The portfolio provides practical evidence of capability. It does not guarantee promotion, employment or a particular career outcome.

Diploma & Assessment

How do the Program and the Diploma fit together?

The AI Workplace Transformation Program is the practical Learning Journey through which you develop and apply capability. The BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Digital Transformation) is the nationally recognised qualification included in the Program.

Your practical activities may contribute evidence toward formal assessment where they meet the relevant requirements. The Diploma is awarded only after all applicable training and assessment requirements have been successfully completed.

Your Career Success & Impact Portfolio, Future Ready Skills and Digital Achievement Badges sit alongside the qualification. They are not nationally recognised qualifications themselves.

What does “nationally recognised” actually mean?

BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Digital Transformation) is a nationally recognised qualification from Australia’s vocational education and training system. Its code and units are published on the national register, training.gov.au, so an employer, another training organisation or a university can see exactly what it required.

EduSmart, as a Registered Training Organisation, can issue the qualification when all required units and assessment requirements have been successfully completed.

Does the work I do in the Program count toward the Diploma?

It can. Practical activities completed through the Program may contribute evidence toward Diploma assessment where that evidence meets the relevant unit and assessment requirements.

Some assessment evidence, discussions or additional activities may also be required.

How are assessments marked?

Formal assessment decisions are made by appropriately qualified assessors.

AI or digital tools may support learning or give preliminary feedback, but they do not replace the assessor’s final competency decision.

What will I actually hold at the end?

If you successfully complete all requirements, you receive the BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Digital Transformation).

You also have your Career Success & Impact Portfolio, your Future Ready Skills record and any Digital Achievement Badges you have earned through the required evidence and verification process.

If you are assessed as competent in some units but do not complete the full Diploma, you may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment for the units you completed.

What happens if I do not finish the Diploma?

If you have been assessed as competent in individual nationally recognised units, you may be issued a Statement of Attainment for those units.

You have up to 18 months to complete and submit the required assessment evidence. If you return after that, EduSmart will review any units you completed against the qualification requirements current at that time.

I already have units or relevant experience. Does that count?

Possibly. If you have already completed equivalent nationally recognised units, you may be eligible for credit transfer. If you have substantial relevant skills and experience, recognition of prior learning may also be available.

In either case, the evidence must meet the applicable training and assessment requirements.

Fees & Enrolment

How much does the Program cost?

The current fee is $2,997. It includes the AI Workplace Transformation Program and the BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Digital Transformation). Payment plans are available.

Is government funding or VET Student Loans available?

No. The Program is offered on a fee-for-service basis. It is not funded through VET Student Loans or state training subsidies.

Who is the Program for?

Working adults who want stronger practical AI, digital, problem-solving and workplace transformation capability.

It is particularly relevant to people in project, operations, business, people and HR, client service, risk, administration and management roles.

How do I apply?

Start your application on the Start Your Future page. EduSmart reviews it, and formal enrolment follows once your application is accepted.

EduSmart & Recognition

Is EduSmart a registered training organisation?

Yes. EduSmart Institute is a Registered Training Organisation, RTO 45984, regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). You can check its registration on training.gov.au.

Are your qualifications nationally recognised?

Nationally recognised qualifications and units that EduSmart delivers within its approved RTO scope are recognised across Australia’s vocational education and training system. The BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Digital Transformation) is nationally recognised.

The Career Success & Impact Portfolio, Future Ready Skills and Digital Achievement Badges are EduSmart’s own credentials, separate from the qualification.

Where is EduSmart based?

We are based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, and deliver courses Australia-wide online.

How long has EduSmart been operating?

EduSmart Institute is new. The people behind it are not: we have spent more than 22 years running Global Training Institute, and EduSmart is what we built from that experience, a practical model for AI, digital transformation and workplace capability.
