What we’re researching
We want to understand:
- how confident Australians feel about their careers
- whether people feel prepared for AI-enabled work
- which skills they believe will matter most
- whether employers are helping people prepare
- whether people feel able to prove their value
- what workers are doing to prepare for what comes next
You do not need to be an AI expert.
We want responses from people at every stage. You may already use AI regularly, be experimenting with it, or only just be starting to think about what it could mean for your career.
Your experience matters.
Why EduSmart Institute is conducting this research.
The people behind EduSmart Institute have run Global Training Institute for more than 22 years, in vocational education and workforce development. We are now focused on how AI is changing work, skills and careers.
We are conducting this research because we want to understand what workers are actually experiencing as AI changes work, rather than relying only on predictions and assumptions.
EduSmart Institute is an Australian Government Registered Training Organisation, RTO Code 45984.
The findings will help build a clearer picture of:
- career confidence
- future-ready skills
- employer preparation
- career proof
- the support people may need next

Reported in aggregate, with the method shown.
- Research findings will be reported in aggregate. Individual respondents will not be identified, or named, in published findings without permission.
- The survey does not ask for your name or email. Contact details are asked for only after your response is submitted, and only if you want the findings or future resources.
- Responses are used to build the Australian AI Career Confidence Index 2026 and its published findings.
- Published findings will state the sample size, the mix of participants, the collection period and the methodology, including whether the sample is self-selected.
The Index will report what participating working Australians tell us about career confidence. It will not claim to represent every Australian worker.
